Long, long ago, in a world without the Internet, during what some call “the before time,” a young boy encountered his first computer. He did not know it then, but that moment would forever change the course of his life. An amber monitor, a BASIC program, and a computer game planted within him a love of technology.
The seed blossomed in 1988, when his father brought home a second-hand computer. It was a 286 IBM compatible clone running DOS 5.0. It had 640 kB of RAM, dual 5 1/4 floppy disk drives, and an 8 MHz Processor that could turbo to 12 MHz. It did not have an internal hard drive, but it came with a 9600 baud modem, for connecting to BBS networks.
